The Energenie Solution
Turn building data into lower energy use and better room conditions.
Energenie is a retrofit energy and environmental management platform that combines smart heating control, room-condition monitoring, energy measurement and portfolio reporting — helping multi-site estates understand what is happening, act on it and prove the result.
Why Energenie exists
Most estates have data. Fewer can turn it into action.
Smart meters, BMS systems, thermostats and environmental sensors can all produce information. The harder problem is connecting that information across a complex estate and using it to make better operating decisions.
See the room
Understand conditions and heating behaviour where occupants actually experience the building.
Compare the estate
Identify buildings, rooms and operating periods that behave differently from their peers.
Act on the evidence
Use targeted control, maintenance or retrofit rather than treating every space in the same way.
How it works
Monitor. Analyse. Optimise. Report.
The platform is designed around a simple operating loop: understand the building, identify the opportunity, take action and measure what changed.
Capture the evidence
Bring together room conditions, heating behaviour, electricity consumption and other relevant building data.
Find the exceptions
Compare rooms, buildings and sites to identify waste, unusual behaviour and performance differences.
Target intervention
Apply intelligent heating control, operational changes, maintenance or retrofit where the evidence supports it.
Prove the outcome
Track performance after intervention and report what changed across rooms, buildings and estates.
Smart Heating Control
Heat spaces when they need heat — not simply because the schedule says so.
Energenie adds room-level and zone-level intelligence to existing heating systems, allowing estates to move away from blunt, building-wide control.
Depending on the existing infrastructure, heating can be aligned with timetables, term dates, occupancy patterns, operating hours and other rules while still preserving suitable minimum temperatures and occupant comfort.
Typical capabilities
- Room and zone heating control
- Smart radiator valve control
- Thermostat control
- Time and calendar-based schedules
- Setback strategies
- Building-specific operating rules
- Remote estate management
What can be measured
- Whole-building electricity use
- 3-phase electrical systems
- Individual circuits where required
- Heating behaviour
- Solar generation
- Temperature and environmental conditions
- Portfolio-level energy trends
Energy Monitoring
Understand where energy is being used before deciding where to intervene.
Energenie provides retrofit energy monitoring for individual buildings, circuits and portfolios, giving estates teams a clearer picture of consumption without waiting for monthly bills.
The objective is not simply to create another dashboard. Energy data becomes more useful when it can be compared with room conditions, heating activity and building operation.
That allows teams to ask better questions: which buildings are consuming more than their peers, when is unnecessary consumption occurring, and did an intervention actually reduce demand?
Room Condition Assurance
Understand the conditions occupants actually experience.
Temperature, humidity and environmental conditions can reveal issues that whole-building energy data cannot.
Energenie's Room Condition Assurance proposition helps estates identify spaces that are repeatedly too hot, too cold, humid or otherwise behaving unusually — then maintain the evidence trail after action has been taken.
Environmental insight can include
- Room temperature
- Humidity
- CO₂ where required
- Heating status
- Room-to-room comparison
- Repeated condition patterns
- Post-intervention monitoring
Move from raw readings to operating insight
- Room and device views
- Building and site comparisons
- Portfolio benchmarking
- Trend and anomaly analysis
- Energy and condition reporting
- Pre/post intervention comparison
- Management and ESG evidence
Data, Reporting & Verification
The dashboard should help you decide what to do next.
Energenie gives users different levels of visibility depending on the decision they need to make — from an individual room through to an entire estate.
Instead of treating every data point equally, the platform helps users identify exceptions, compare similar assets and measure what happened after changes were made.
This makes the same data useful to facilities teams, sustainability teams, asset managers and senior decision-makers.
One platform, different levels of detail
From the individual room to the entire estate.
Different users need different levels of information. Energenie is designed to allow teams to move between them.
What is happening here?
View temperature, heating status, environmental conditions and connected-device information for an individual room or space.
What is different?
Compare groups, floors, buildings and sites to identify anomalies, operating patterns and opportunities for action.
Where should we focus?
Benchmark performance across a portfolio and identify where management attention or capital should be prioritised.
Built for existing estates
Add a control and evidence layer without starting again.
Many of the buildings that need better energy and environmental management already have functioning heating and electrical systems. Replacing everything is rarely the most practical first step.
Retrofit
Add monitoring and control to existing buildings with minimal disruption where the infrastructure allows it.
Flexible
Combine heating controls, environmental sensors and energy monitoring according to the requirements of each project.
Scalable
Start with a building, site or specific problem and expand after the operating value has been demonstrated.
Proven through expansion and renewal
Evidence over promises
The strongest proof is what customers do next.
Energenie's customer evidence includes both contract renewal and account expansion.
The Leys School renewed for a further three years after its initial deployment across more than 20 buildings.
Kexgill expanded from an initial hardware deployment of approximately £70,000 to around £210,000 through three additional orders.
Those behaviours are central to the Energenie model: begin with measurable value and expand when the evidence supports it.
A flexible commercial model
Deploy around the project, not a fixed package.
Energenie projects vary by estate, heating system, monitoring requirement and scale. Rather than forcing customers into historic Green, Bronze, Silver or Gold packages, the solution is scoped around the connected devices, monitoring requirements and operating outcomes needed for the project.
Software and platform services scale with the number of managed connected devices or endpoints, while hardware is selected according to the monitoring and control requirement.
CapEx
Purchase the required hardware, with ongoing software and platform services supporting the deployment.
OpEx
Where appropriate, projects can also be structured through a third-party finance route to spread costs into monthly operating payments.
Built around real estate operations
Different sectors. The same underlying problem.
Buildings differ, but the operating questions are remarkably similar: where is energy being wasted, which spaces need attention and did the intervention work?

Frequently asked questions
About the Energenie platform.
What does Energenie Solutions do?
Energenie provides retrofit heating control, room-condition monitoring, energy monitoring and portfolio-level analysis for multi-site estates. The aim is to help organisations identify avoidable energy use, improve building operation and verify outcomes.
Does Energenie require a complete replacement of existing systems?
No. Energenie is designed around retrofit. The exact approach depends on existing heating and electrical infrastructure, but the objective is to add useful monitoring and control without replacing working infrastructure unnecessarily.
What can Energenie monitor?
Depending on the project, monitoring can include temperature, humidity, CO₂, heating status, electricity consumption, individual circuits and solar generation.
Can Energenie control heating as well as monitor it?
Yes, where the existing heating infrastructure and project design support it. Smart thermostats, radiator controls, schedules and operating rules can be combined with monitoring data.
Can Energenie manage multiple buildings and sites?
Yes. The platform is designed to provide visibility from individual rooms and devices through to buildings, sites and whole portfolios.
Is pricing still based on Green, Bronze, Silver and Gold packages?
No. Projects are now scoped around the required hardware, managed connected devices, platform services and operating outcomes rather than the previous tiered package structure.
Can projects be funded through OpEx?
Where appropriate, Energenie can support a third-party finance route that allows project costs to be spread through monthly payments, subject to the finance provider's terms and approval.
Stop guessing. Start measuring.
Find out what your buildings are actually doing.
Start with a representative building, operating problem or part of the estate. Energenie can help establish the baseline, identify the opportunity and build an evidence-led route to wider deployment.
