Case Studies & Results
Evidence matters more than promises.
Energenie projects are built around measurable operating outcomes: understand the baseline, identify avoidable waste, intervene and then measure what changed.
Our strongest evidence is not simply the initial installation. It is what customers do afterwards — renew, expand and continue using the platform as part of the way their estates are operated.
Featured customer evidence
Different estates. Different problems. The same evidence-led approach.
Energenie is deployed across education, student accommodation and leisure estates where heating cost, room conditions and operational complexity create different challenges.
Kexgill
Retrofit heating control across a bills-inclusive student accommodation estate.
Kexgill wanted a non-intrusive retrofit solution capable of reducing its exposure to all-inclusive energy costs while retaining student control and improving management insight.
The project combined heating control, motion data, automation and estate reporting and subsequently expanded beyond the original deployment.

Room-level heating control across a complex historic Cambridge school estate.
The Leys required a scalable way to manage heating across a varied estate where the existing BMS did not provide sufficient room-level granularity.
Energenie delivered retrofit radiator control, tailored software and reporting while minimising disruption to the school environment.

Smarter heating management across holiday accommodation.
Holiday parks face a distinct operating challenge: accommodation moves repeatedly between occupied and unoccupied states while guest comfort remains critical.
Energenie's retrofit control approach helps align heating more closely with how lodges are actually being used.

A case study should show more than an installation.
We look for evidence across the whole project lifecycle — what the estate looked like before deployment, what changed operationally and what the customer did after seeing the system in use.
What was happening before?
Understand the operating problem rather than assuming a universal percentage saving.
What did we actually change?
Document the controls, monitoring and operational changes introduced by the project.
What happened afterwards?
Compare energy use, room conditions and operating behaviour after intervention.
What did the customer do next?
Renewal and expansion provide strong evidence that the customer continued to see value.
Evidence across the customer lifecycle
The initial installation is only the beginning.
Evidence takes different forms
Energy savings are important — but they are not the only outcome.
Different estates deploy Energenie for different reasons. The evidence we collect therefore needs to match the operating objective of the project.
Reduce avoidable consumption
Measure energy use before and after changes to controls, schedules and estate operation.
Explore energy optimisation →Verify occupant conditions
Use temperature, humidity and environmental data to establish whether room conditions improve after intervention.
Explore Room Condition Assurance →Improve the way buildings are controlled
Identify operating patterns, anomalies and opportunities that can be acted on across multiple buildings and sites.
Explore the Energenie platform →Land, prove, expand
Start with enough deployment to answer the commercial question.
For larger estates, we do not believe the first project has to cover every room or building. It needs to generate enough evidence to determine whether wider rollout is justified.
Prove the problem
Select representative buildings, known problem areas or an appropriate first deployment and establish the baseline.
Measure the response
Introduce monitoring, control or operational changes and track whether the target outcome actually improves.
Scale the evidence
Use measured results to support wider deployment across further rooms, buildings, sites or portfolios.
Explore by sector
See how the evidence connects to your estate.
Room conditions, heating and retrofit evidence
Build a clearer evidence layer across housing stock and verify the outcome of interventions.
Explore Social Housing →Heating control across complex education estates
Understand room and building performance across classrooms, boarding and wider school estates.
Explore Schools →Reduce all-inclusive energy exposure
Identify heating waste from individual bedrooms through to national portfolios.
Explore Student Accommodation →Build your own evidence case
Start with a problem that can be measured.
Whether the objective is reducing energy waste, improving room conditions or verifying a retrofit intervention, the first step is establishing a baseline capable of showing whether the project actually worked.
