The Leys, a leading co-educational boarding and day school in Cambridge, implemented Energenie Solutions' smart heating control system across 21 buildings. The Leys School, founded in 1875, is a prestigious independent school in Cambridge. Its 50-acre campus includes 11 boarding houses, state-of-the-art teaching facilities, and extensive sports amenities
The Problem
With rising energy costs and a sprawling campus of varied building types, The Leys needed a scalable, flexible heating control system. Their existing Building Management System (BMS) lacked the granularity required to manage heating effectively across nearly 1,000 radiators. The school required a retrofit solution with detailed insights and minimal disruption to operations.
Despite initial concerns regarding software capabilities in a school environment, collaboration between Energenie Solutions and The Leys helped tailor the system to meet their specific needs. The addition of daily anomaly reporting further improved heating diagnostics and system performance.
